Together strong in witness
2025 is well and truly upon us, and it appears to be a tumultuous start to the year. On the international front, RSA has repatriated soldiers who perished in the DRC, while the US has begun a diplomatic and trade assault on the us regarding domestic and foreign relations policies
At home different challenges confront us, from Zama Zama illegal mining,
joblessness, economic stagnation and a general decline in morale.
Thankfully, thousands of bible believing Christians continue to intercede for our
republic, with millions of others daily living out their faith, preaching the gospel,
planting churches, making disciples and seeding hope in communities.
It excites us that in a little over 7 weeks TEASA members will gather at the Biennial
General Meeting, just outside Johannesburg. It is an important `family meeting’ for
the TEASA community to pray and discern together on ways evangelicalism
might acquit itself well in the nation and the world. Be sure to be a part of it!
Who is eligible to attend the TEASA BGM?
Those who have registered as members to become part of the TEASA community. Membership categories are different:
-Individual membership. You can join the community as an individual for only
R200 annually.
–Local church membership. R2000 annually.
Other categories of membership are ministers fraternal, Mission organizations,
seminaries and bible colleges, as well as denominations. For more

Let us pray together that 2025 will be a great year in which
evangelicals:
– Strengthen their unity, in answer to the Lord ‘s John 17 prayer.
– Collaborate in bringing Kingdom impact to the nation and beyond.
–Advocate our common witness in the media, government and other publics
as needed.

Global crusade with William Kumuyi
Dr William Kumuyi is no stranger to South Africa, having first ministered in different evangelical churches in South Africa in 2014, where– hosted by TEASA – he collaborated with evangelical alliances in SADC countries to do an HIV conference in Pretoria. Formally a Maths professor at the university ofLagos, he has become one of Africa’s finest Church planters. His first church plant was at in Lagos Nigeria, that grew to be 3rd largest in the world.
A bible teacher and evangelist, Dr Kumuyi and His Deeper Life Church is known for integrity in life and witness, with a huge evangelistic impact both in his home country and around the world.
TEASA is excited to collaborate with him in one of his global crusades, to be hosted in South Africa in September from 24th to the 18th in Johannesburg. TEASA leaders Rev Siphiwe Ndebele, former President of the Baptist Convention, and Rev Hermy Damons recently visited Dr Kumuyi during his annual Deeper Life leaders conferences. Rev Ndebele shared his experience
“ It was like a retreat for me and felt like I’m spending time with my Spiritual mentors, taking me by the hand and showing me where I have missed the mark on my journey with the Lord. But going further than that opening my eyes giving me understanding. Coaching me on what to do when I leave the conference. I must confess, I came back revived and having made some resolutions and also adjusted my prayer time, personal bible study and taken notes on improving church ministry.”
Spare a prayer for the DRC.
The war in the Democratic Republic of Congo has raged on for too long. Government recently witnessed a memorial service for the SANDF soldiers who died in combat as part of a peace keeping mission in the escalating conflict. As with many conflicts, different narratives have been offered, often at variance with one another, to explain it. Some darker than others. Some alleging tribal and territorial clashes. Some seeing it as a pursuit of mineral interests by business or foreign governments, some taking it as a legitimate Peace mission sanctioned by SADC / AU.
Barnabas Aid, a Christian Charity, has monitored the situation for a while and notes that Christian persecution is also part of the mix. According to their report, upward of 100 Christians have been killed by Islamists.

The truth, thankfully, is known by the God of the universe, to whom we get to take our concerns in prayer.
Pray for a just end to the DRC conflict.
Pray for the church in the DRC. It must be a daunting task to be deployed by the Lord to be a Salt and Light, Peace maker and a herald of the gospel in a land so troubled and at war with itself.
Pray for the people of the DRC to find national reconciliation and reconstruction.
